New Post....finally!

Well, obviously I am way behind so here is a quick recap of the last 9 months or so. First, I kicked off with the Bailey wedding. It was so fun!Then, I roped Joe into helping out with the Panter wedding. The Panter ladies were some of the sweetest women I've ever gotten to work with. It was a great day and so fun being able to work with Joe. The second image is from the ceremony but the first is one of Joe's. I was impressed.

Next comes the Homeyer wedding. Big thanks to Joy Bergthold for landing me this one!

And then it was my turn!! Miles Boyer (mileswittboyer.com) did our engagements and we love love love them! Here are 2 of our faves!

And then some wedding pics....thanks to the lovely Kari Nichols from Hot Springs, AR. We couldn't be any happier with the way our pics turned out. Love love love.

After the most amazing wedding in the world, we headed to Cabo San Lucas where we stayed at Villa la Estancia. The nicest resort either of us have ever been to or probably will ever go to. We had an amazing time and it was the best way to start off life together!

That brings us to now...Joe is in school and working on some construction projects and I'm still working at Central Research hoping for a marketing job! We are also looking for a house :) There will be lots of pics of that to come. I've signed 2 weddings for this coming summer. 1 in Joplin and 1 in Dallas. So get the word out that I'm available, this blog (and my website) needs more weddings!!

Job

Job...I got one. Sweet. Graduation on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Monday begins the crazy adult life. Here we go....

Wedding Weekend

This weekend was all about weddings. Saturday I got to the Bailey's at 9:30 a.m. and 846 pictures later the day was over. That is almost 8GB of pictures for anyone who was wondering. The wedding was really pretty, held outside (the rain waited until after everyone was gone) on the banks of Shoal Creek. There was yummy cake made by Mary Chambers and lots of friends and family. There will be lots of editing going on over the next week or two and I will get some up on here! After all of that crazy wedding fun I got to start on my own crazy wedding. We decided on some reception stuff and (drumroll please...............) we decided on a photographer. This is big. No, this is HUGE. I'm super excited though. We are using Kari Nichols. Go check her out, www.karinicholsphotography.com She will be shooting our wedding and Miles Boyer will be doing our engagements. He's awesome too (and unfortunately booked on our wedding day). www.mileswittboyer.com Well, nothing like advertising other photographers on your own blog but these guys are seriously amazing and super nice. And now as the craziness of wedding planning begins to pick up so does my finals week as well as a job interview. Hopefully, Wednesday I will know if I have a job, then we can actually start looking at apartments...yay!...and the most exciting detail of all.....DRESS SHOPPING!!! Stay tuned....

Engaged

I am engaged!! Wednesday, April 21, 2010 Joe Nothum asked me to marry him and I said yes. So now I get to do all of the crazy planning for a wedding. This includes finding a killer photographer. And so it begins.....

Portfolio Show

Last night was my senior portfolio show. 4 years of work and 1 semester of compiling and planning and now it is all over. I can finally have some time to do fun things again! But the show was great if you like standing in heels for 5 hours and smiling non stop and answering the same questions over and over. But seriously, it was fun and very rewarding. It's always great when people tell you how they like a certain piece of work because of the composition or because of the moment it captured or the way the light is coming through the trees. And what is even better than that is when someone asks you how you thought to take the picture like that and you say, I just did. It was how I saw it. That's a good feeling. It comes naturally. So all in all last night was great. Now I just have to get through the next 2 weeks of class and a week of finals which is really only 1 test....and once that is over: GRADUATION!

Blogging

I said I would never do it....and yet here I am. I'm coming up on graduation and that means getting everything ready for the "real world". So here is my blog. The purpose: to update everyone on my life as a photographer. I probably won't update everyday, but every once in a while. I will link this to my new website which I am working on at this exact moment. I'll let you all know when it's ready. It's going to be awesome. The End.
